Ein ganz rares Stück - Faszination für vier ! Das gab’s bei LOTUS nur selten. Der EXCEL S.E.Bj. 1988, 135 KW/183PS ( knapp 60.000 km) ist inzwischen wieder in einem guten Zustand.Einige Stand-und Verschleißschäden wurden mit Neuteilen behoben.

 

full leather interior in very good condition. No cracks. holes etc, original loudspeakers ( LOTUS covers ) in the rear. Non-originals in the front doors.

the EXCEL is a 1988 SE five speed with 183HP/135 KW. It's "Lotus Racing Green" and the interior is a full leather ( sand ) version. The car must have run original 60.000km/ 37.000 miles as stated by the speedo it was placed in a garage for nearly 6 years. I bought it about five years ago due to it's "good health" and low  mileage. Then, due to this long garage placement, I needed many things to be replaced / rebuilt.

Dazu gehörten das komplette Fahrwerk (Feder, Stoßdämpfer etc.), Bremsen (inkl.Brems-Sättel, kompl. Auspuffsystem (in Edelstahl),Frontspoiler, Lichter/Blinker, Klimaanlage (neuer Kondensator, neuer Trockner, Leitungen etc. ), Steuerriemen (!), Lichtmaschine u.v.”Kleinigkeiten” mehr !
 

Leider hat der (vor zwei Jahren überholte ) Klimakompressor seinen Geist erneut aufgegeben.
Dieser u. einige kleinere opt. Nachbesserungen im Motorenbereich (Ventildeckellack) müßten behoben werden, um die "sehr gut" zu erreichen...

- new brakes/callipers/discs/hoses, shocks/springs, bearings,etc. on all wheels                             

- new condensor and other AC parts. The compressor was overhauled but failed again last august - now a new one is due  - new timing belt                                                                                                                                         - new water radiator/ kit    - new oil cooler/kit                                                                                                                                      - any filter,any hose, any fluid has been replaced                                                                                  - new door hinges, a lot of work ! (very underestimated problem on EXCELS as the doors simply   fall off - happened to me                                                                                                                           - new front lights (complete incl. parking lights)                                                                                      - new choke cable !!!                                                                                                                                 - manual rad. switch in addition                                                                                                           plus tons of other little things, screws, bolts & nuts. The car is technically in a very good condition ( disregarding the AC compressor) .
